MY COUNTRY BY DOROTHEA MACKELLER

A poem written by Dorothea MacKellar in 1908, the words to “My Country” is one that is recited for school and remembered for its compelling  description of what Australia is even today.

I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!

IF YOU LIKE THIS POEM PERHAPS YOU COULD TRY AND WRITE ANOTHER VERSE FOR IT.
